Speech Language Pathologist

Melanie Mehay M.A., CCC-SLP

Melanie received her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from Indiana University in 2000. Since that time, she has worked in multiple settings, including early intervention, outpatient clinics, public schools, teletherapy, and private practice. Melanie has lived and worked in several states, including Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. She moved to South Carolina in 2015. Melanie has also spent time homeschooling her two children.

Melanie has clinical experience working with children with autism, cerebral palsy, multiple handicaps, phonological disorders, language delays, Down syndrome, and childhood apraxia of speech. She has extra training in the area of alternative augmentative communication, including PECS, using tangible symbols for blind children, PODD, LAMP, auditory scanning, and use of multiple high-tech devices. 

In her free time, Melanie enjoys exploring Charleston, going to the beach, running, and spending time with her family.
