BabyNet

BabyNet is South Carolina’s inter-agency early intervention system for infants and toddlers under three years of age with developmental delays, or who have conditions associated with developmental delays.

Family Connections

Family Connection of South Carolina has a long history of providing parent-to-parent support to families of children with disabilities or special healthcare needs.

Carolina Children’s Charity

Website dedicated to local charity organization that helps fund services/needs for families with children with special needs. Grant application available on website including eligibility requirements.

The Miracle League

The Charleston Miracle League makes memories by providing a life-changing experience for children and adults with mental and physical challenges through a community supported baseball league

MUSC Children’s Hospital

Website for local children’s hospital providing a wide array of services for families including emergency services, developmental testing, and routine care.

SCIWAY

South Carolina “Information Highway” (SKY-WAY) which filters all available disability resource websites into one location for easier navigation.

SC Access

Another website dedicated to quick navigation of disability resources.

SC DDSN

South Carolina’s Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. This website provides information on services provided for families who qualify including early intervention, respite care, financial assistance, job training, and information on residential facilities.

SC VRD

South Carolina’s website for vocational rehab. Provides services including assessment, disability management, job training, and job searching.

Pattison’s Academy

Local charter school providing academic and therapeutic care for children and families with multiple and severe disabilities.

Surfers Healing

Surfers Healing is a program based in California that travels around the world taking kids with autism into the ocean to surf. They come to Folly Beach every year right before school starts. Website provides more information about the program, how to sign up, as well as the schedule.

DSAL

DSAL is the Down Syndrome Association of the Lowcountry. Created by families for families with children with Down Syndrome, they provide education on the diagnosis as well as information about their yearly Buddy Walk and Special Olympics events.

Five Fish Foundation

Five Fish Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to individuals with an intellectual disability and their families for approved therapies, programs, and products that promote their Support, Care, Acceptance, Life Quality, and Education in Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties, South Carolina
